‘Caring for your emotional health and personal development’

You may have come to a point in your life where you feel stuck, in a rut.

Counselling & psychotherapy both involve building a mutually respectful working relationship. You bring yourself and unique story. We bring our training, which is to listen objectively while guiding and highlighting areas that are of issue to you. Together we aim to make things clearer and more manageable for you.

You can use the sessions to explore yourself freely and confidentially. Counselling & psychotherapy  both give you an opportunity for you to take back control of your own life through developing skills and strategies to cope or change.

Trainee Therapists: You may require therapy or supervision as a requirement of your course. Please ring me to talk over your specific needs in more detail.

Both short and long term counselling & psychotherapy are available. With an experienced therapist, short term work can be surprisingly effective.

Emotional Therapy Technique (EFT)

Emotional Freedom Technique is more commonly known as EFT and  is a simple procedure involving tapping on meridians or release points, on the body. It quickly and easily resolves disturbances in the body’s energy system giving quick relief and freedom from negative emotions and painful sensations. It looks and sounds a little strange but it can work in up to 80% of cases often where nothing else will.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Neuro Linguistic Programming is the study of how we create our experience from feelings, thoughts and actions. Using NLP you can understand and change those unhelpful patterns quickly and easily so that you can get away from problems, becoming more resourceful and less stuck.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the basis for Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapy (NLPt). It was developed by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. The core belief of this theory is that people do not react to their environment as it is, but rather they build their perception from their experiences as they relate to the world around them. Each person develops his or her own map of his or her world, and by doing such, no one ever possesses a map that fully represents the true environment. Because each person experiences different life events, and subsequently different reactions to those events, no two people will ever be guided on the same journey. This technique allows a person to view the steps that have led them to where they are and to examine the negative and positive influences, behaviours, and choices that brought them there. NLP also examines areas of success and uses these as a springboard for developing other successful emotions and determines the most efficient way to use these experiences and emotions in every day situations. This technique of “modelling” allows for rapid transformation.

Each person is created with an internal computer, the mind. Information is absorbed by the mind through our senses and is processed through different mechanisms. People’s expressions of emotions, behaviors, and responses are the direct result of their internal processing. These actions and responses are then absorbed by their minds, reprocessed and expressed, repeatedly. The processing mechanism is subjective to one’s own unique experiences and external life events. NLP can be referred to as the operating manual for people’s minds that can guide us through the necessary steps to reprogram our processing mechanisms when they produce unwanted expressions.
